The per line price might be lower but the total for 5 lines is greater than the total for 4 lines. It is possible to transfer ownership later but that’s an additional cost too. There are also no activation fees or credit checks for prepaid and if you go postpaid, there is only one account and whoever opens the account is the account owner. If you don’t need international roaming and prepaid coverage works for you, the prepaid plan is likely the better choice. There are differences in coverage between prepaid and postpaid and prepaid service does not roam internationally except Canada and Mexico. If you expect to need data, the prepaid plan is much better.
